This article presents the application of a geomorphological mapping methodology developed in Brazil to the
municipality of Chía, located in the Colombian Andes. The research relies on the interpretation of geological maps,
topographic charts, satellite images, geotechnologies, and fieldwork, enabling geomorphological characterization across
various scales of analysis. The methodology employed originated in Brazil driven by the RADAMBRASIL project (1970–1985)
and is currently used with modifications and adaptations specific to the regions being mapped. It integrates morphostructural,
morphological, and morphometric aspects and, more recently, anthropogenic landforms within a systemic, integrated, and
applied approach. The results demonstrate the feasibility of applying this methodology in Andean areas, provided that certain
technical and methodological adaptations are made, adjustments that do not alter the fundamental Brazilian methodological
structure. The conclusions confirm the methodology's applicability within the Andean context, highlighting its potential for
environmental and territorial planning.
